Helptic is an app that helps the hearing impaired in their everyday life by providing them with alerts that informs them of their surroundings. With the use of their smart watch, Helptic will provide the users with vibrations that will catch the user's attention thus making them aware of their surroundings.
Helptic was made to improve communication between the hearing impaired and their surroundings. Familiarizing and getting to understand deaf culture was a key factor for Helptic. Using a smart watch to listen to surroundings and detect what needs the users attention was a challenge. Our surroundings are full of activity and different noises. Thanks to Helptic's smart listening, we are able to ignore "regular noises" and only focus on the necessary ones for our user.
